Pearson’s Arms Encourages Young Diners

Cosy Whitstable sea side pub the Pearson’s Arms is living up to its welcoming ethos by opening its restaurant early for younger diners.

Family Friendly Dining will be running throughout the year but in February 2019 the restaurant is extending its Sunday lunch offer, now available Thurs-Sat (5.30-7pm) where children under 7 accompanied by an adult can eat for free.

Families can come out early evening and dine at the Pearson’s Arms before the crowds appear. There is a special children’s menu which includes mini pub classics but – as everything is cooked from scratch in the kitchens – the chef can prepare any of the á la carte dishes as a smaller portion for budding gastronomes.

Father of twins, Executive Head Chef and Owner of the Pearson’s Arms, Richard Phillips comments:

“I believe it’s really important for kids to experience eating out at a restaurant; it’s the ritual which is so unlike eating at home, there’s a choice of food, a chance to taste different dishes, sometimes a choice of table and several courses to enjoy whilst spending uninterrupted time as a family.

“As a father I also understand how hard it can be for parents to juggle eating out with children, not wanting bedtimes to be too late and finding a restaurant that serves food you want to eat too. So this is why we’ve created a Family Friendly sitting at the Pearson’s Arms, a place where parents can relax knowing their children are welcome.

“We want to make the experience as easy as possible, so we are opening service at 5.30pm for three nights a week, we have a special children’s menu or can adapt anything on our á la carte. During February any child under 7 accompanied by an adult, eats for free.”
