The Homestead is a family farm based on the North Downs, just outside of Dover. They have a small herd of rare-breed, pedigree Shetland cattle who live out on the Downs all year round, and 100% grass-fed.

Raising cattle in this natural way is, of course, a slow process – animals spend many years on their farm before going for beef – but it is worth it. They believe the quality of their slow-grown, grass-fed traditional beef is “incomparable” to meat from other methods of production. 

Although they prefer the more traditional methods of farming, their online store and home delivery service offer the convenience of modern shopping. Their beef is also priced extremely reasonably and we think it would be ideal for Christmas!

Wye Farmer’s Market, (Wye Green, TN25 5AH) held 9am to 12 noon on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month & Hythe Farmer’s Market (Methodist Church Hall, CT21 5BG), which is held 10am to 1pm on the 4th Saturday of every month.
