Local Shopping set to increase by 66% this year.
THINK PINK!
Produced in Kent (known as PINK), the organisation representing the food, drinks, and craft community of Kent, urges the people of Kent to THINK PINK when they’re shopping this year.
“Two thirds (66%) of people are more likely to shop locally compared to a year ago”, shows new research from Retail Times.[1]
With lockdown in full swing and the challenge of Christmas shopping at the forefront of people’s minds, buying locally be that in person or online has never been more relevant or necessary. Produced in Kent, the dynamic support community and the voice of Kent food, drink, and craft businesses, has seen a 15% rise in the number of visitors to its website since July[2].
With its new ‘foodie magazine’ look, www.producedinkent.co.uk, is offering a tantalising one-stop-shop for people searching for the best in food, drink, and home & lifestyle the county has to offer.
But do the residents of Kent really know what Produced in Kent does, and what its logo stands for? Chief executive of PINK Floortje Hoette would love to find out just how much the county knows about PINK. She wants to understand whether Kent locals look for the logo when they shop and what that logo represents for them. This is where you come in!
WE NEED YOU to fill in the mini-survey that PINK has created. Simply visit the new website and answer three quick questions. Do this before 16th December 2020 to be in with a chance of winning a luxury festive hamper packed full of gorgeous goodies from Produced in Kent suppliers.
Hoette comments, “the way in which people are shopping is changing. Businesses that were previously customer-facing have had to begin trading online. People are wanting to support local businesses and order from their favourite local shops and being able to do this online is vital. We are so glad to see the website so busy, it just proves that the Kent community really cares about the provenance of their shopping, gift items and food and drink. The new website will be able to manage the higher numbers of visitors to the site and is much more user friendly and informative. We hope will make shoppers more aware of the Produced in Kent logo.
PINK is here to help residents of Kent join together and Buy Local” continues Hoette. “There are 605,638 households in Kent. If every household spends £10 per week on Kent local produce and products, we add £315 million to the Kent economy every year – which helps businesses stay afloat and keeps people in jobs. With a little effort, we can do a lot!’.
