Woolton Farm celebrates autumn with the launch of new cider festival

Friday 30th September to Sunday 2nd October

Woolton Farm in Bekesbourne near Canterbury, the home of award-winning Kentish Pip cider, invites guests to its first ever family friendly Cider Festival. Celebrating the best of local produce, the festival takes place from Friday 30th September to Sunday 2nd October, during peak apple harvest season.

What’s On?

Hosting a range of entertainments from apple bobbing, wine tasting and a Foxwhelp eating competition to live music and DJ sets, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.  Refreshments include 16+ draught ciders from Woolton’s favourite UK producers, local cask ales, craft beer and a unique selection of ciders to buy by the bottle. For those wanting to produce their own refreshment, Woolton are offering community apple pressing on the Sunday from 10am -12pm. Guests are encouraged to bring their home-grown apples to be transformed into fresh apple juice at no extra cost.

On the menu is a wood fired BBQ from Woolton resident, Saffa Bru Kitchen; a collaboration between Woolton and South African chef Keaton Randall. Well-known in Kent for his delicious South African inspired street food, Keaton will be serving up his South African fare cooked fresh over a wood fired BBQ with a Woolton Farm twist. The menu choices include gourmet burgers and hot dogs with loaded fries and slaw.

Those with adventurous tastes might like to try the Foxwhelp competition; in order to win a bottle of Woolton’s own Foxwhelp+ Traditional Cider, all you have to do is consume an entire Foxwhelp apple, a traditional English cider apple with a particularly sharp, bitter flavour.

Overnight camping

For those looking to extend their stay, guests are welcome to pitch a tent in one of the orchards for just £10 per person per night. Furthermore, guests are welcome to pitch and stay in their own campervans.

Welcoming all the family, including our furry companions, the cider festival is dog friendly. Festival opening times are from 11am – 11pm on Friday 30th September and Saturday 1st October, and from 11am – 9pm on Sunday 2nd October. Entrance is just £5 and includes a souvenir etched glass to take home.
